Kabu Beach Bar

Best beach in Rethymno. Great shisha, great food, hospitality next level… and on top of this, sun beds are free if you order anything from the bar

When we stayed in Rethymno, Kabu was one of the places we visited the most. It has arguably one of the better sun lounger areas on Rethymno beach, very affordable as you only have to order from the bar to get your sun loungers. We tried different things from Kabu’s brunch, lunch and cocktail menu and all were cheap and tasted good. The service was also good considering the heat in which the servers had to endure.

Had a delicious breakfast here. Very simple but tasty. Also had beach beds which were 'free' with an ordered drink. Great beach and bar service.

This was our daily beach bar. The beach and water is clean and you only have to pay for drinks which are all good, especially the cappuccino. Lefteris took great care of us everyday, made conversation with us and taught us a little bit of Greek.

Very good place to drink and eat. Nice service, Quality food, quality and delicious drinks. In front of the beach. You can sit on the beach or in the restaurant itself. Highly recommended and pleasant

Kabu Beach Club is probably the best beach club we visited on Crete. Atmosphere – The loungers are super comfortable, and music is playing, but it’s at the perfect volume — it sets the mood without getting in the way of enjoying the sea and a relaxing beach day. Menu – The menu is very diverse, with a wide range of drinks and food options. We ordered tortillas, burgers, and toast — all the portions were large and tasty. It never felt like they were trying to overcharge us; instead, it felt very generous and welcoming. There are also lots of thoughtful little touches — for example, if you order a Coke, it’ll come with a slice of lemon; if you get a beer, they’ll bring a complimentary pack of nuts; if you order a tortilla, you’ll get an extra dipping sauce with your fries. Venue & Service – The staff are friendly and attentive. There’s also a main restaurant just across the road from the beach, where you’ll find all the facilities like restrooms, or you can sit comfortably at a table for a proper meal. Prices – We were pleasantly surprised by the pricing. Full meals range from €4 to €10, and the drinks are incredibly affordable — for example, a bottle of water is just €0.50. The sunbeds work on a deposit system, so to get them for free, you just need to order any item from the menu. Highly recommended spot!

Recently visited this lovely spot. I went for an espresso martini (delicious!) while my partner opted for a beer. We also shared some chicken nuggets, which were a nice snack. The shisha we chose was orange and passion fruit flavored. It was decent, though in hindsight, we wish we'd tried a more refreshing, vibrant flavor. The interior of the place really stood out to us; it was beautifully decorated, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. A huge plus was the menu available via a QR code - a convenient touch that made exploring their offerings easy. All in all, it's a great spot for those looking to enjoy a leisurely moment. Definitely worth a visit.
